Wood Chipping Program
In an effort to reduce the number of garden refuse fires, the City offers a free wood chipping program to residents of Parksville during the spring and fall of each year. Pick up is provided for small trees and branches, which can be processed through a chipper. Vegetation other than branches (i.e. tomato plants) cannot be chipped. This service is advertised in local newspapers a week or so prior to the date of pickup and usually takes place following Easter and Thanksgiving weekends.
